Judge Llarena asks Italy to arrest Ponsatí and Comín, who accompany Puigdemont

The Court of Appeal of Sassari (Sardinia, Italy) has decided to suspend the procedure on the delivery to Spain of the former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont waiting for the European Justice to rule on the immunity of the independence leader and the preliminary ruling, said his lawyer in Italy, Agostinangelo Marras.
Puigdemont, who did not make any statements at the exit of the Court that studied his possible delivery to Spain, was arrested on September 23 upon his arrival at Alghero airport by an order of the Supreme Court and was transferred to the high security prison of Sassari , although he was released the next day.

“Very happy”

Puigdemont has assured to be “very happy” (very happy) after leaving the court, where he has testified for more than two hours.

“From a courtroom bearing this name –Giovanni Falcone– only a fair decision could come out. This afternoon I will be able to follow the plenary session of Parliament European telematically from l’Alguer, because the Sardinian justice has suspended the extradition procedure, “he explained in a message on his Twitter account.

Puigdemont left the building at 3:05 p.m., where he entered shortly before 11 a.m. to testify, and greeted the people who had gathered to show their support for the cry of ‘Independence’ and ‘Freedom’.

The former Catalan president has left accompanied by his lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, has greeted the ex-councilors Toni I ate and Clara Ponsatí, and has been surrounded by people you trust such as the head of your office, Josep Lluís Regiment, and his friend Jami Matamala.

Subsequently, he got into a car to leave and it is scheduled that this Monday afternoon he will appear at a press conference with Boye, the Italian lawyer, Agostinangelo Marrasy Alay.
